State champion in the 3200 meter at Downers Grove North High School in Illinois 

Earned All-American honors at Michigan State University

Member of 1981 BIg Ten XC Champion Spartan team

Member of 1982 Big Ten T&F Championship Spartan team

Ran pro and was a member of the 1985 USA National Cross Country Championship team

Ran in the Olympic Trials in Los Angeles '84 and Indianapolis '88.  

Has coached  at MSU, CMU, and Olivet (Won "Mac COach of the Year" 3 Times)
