A national qualifier in the 3000m steeplechase, running a pr of 9:07, while a junior at Adrian College in 2013.  He also won the MIAA outdoor 3000m Steeplechase title earning All MIAA honors that season. In 2012, he was an All-MIAA league selection in cross country as a junior for the Bulldogs. He broke the fifteen minute barrier in the 5000m on the track, clocking in with a 14:57.15.  Mangiapane ran for Dearborn Edsel Ford HS and was a state qualifier in cross country during his senior year.  He also was an assistant coach for his college alma mater in track and field in 2015, after serving as a team captain for three years for the Bulldogs.
