Griffin graduated from Alma High School in 2006, where he qualified for the state meet in track and cross country. During his senior year at Alma, Griffin won the conference in the 800m run. His PR’s in high school were 2:00 in the 800m run and 16:25 in cross country. After taking time off from running during college Griffin returned to running after graduating from Central Michigan in 2013. Since his return to racing Griffin has recorded times of 16:07 in the 5k, 73 minutes in the half marathon and 2:39 in the marathon. Griffin’s goals include breaking 16:00 in the 5k and 2:30 in the marathon. He teaches at Alma Middle School and coaches cross country and track at Breckenridge High School.
