​Derek Gielarowski

Derek was regional champion and an All State performer in cross country his senior year at Plymouth High School.  He was a two time All Conference selection in cross country and was a team captain his senior year.  His PR’s were 4:25 in the 1600m and 9:47 in the 3200m run.  A Plymouth grad of 2012, Derek enrolled in the University of Detroit.  At U of D, Gielarowski was an All-Horizon League selection in cross country in 2013 and 2014 and was a part of conference championship teams.  In college, Derek ran 8:35 for 3km, 15:04 for 5k, and 31:35 for 10k.  He is currently working as an engineer in Canton.  One of his running goals is to train for longer distances and run a marathon in the near future.
