An All-Stater and school record holder for Athens High School, Reed continued that success to garner All-America honors at Adrian College. While running for the Athens Indians, he earned All-State in the 3200 meter relay as a junior and his senior year saw him grab All-State in cross country and in the 1600m run. While in college for the Bulldogs, he earned All-American honors in the steeple chase in 2015, while setting the school record in that event at 9:05.11. He also holds the school record in the indoor 5K and is tied for the cross country record. Dom’s personal best time in the 5km is 15:12. He was also a team captain in both high school and college.
