February 20th, 2016-RCRC ran in their final indoor track meet at Hillsdale College Tune-Up on Saturday, February 20. Tom Windle had the highest individual finish, by placing fourth in the mile, running 4:22.96, which was just off his personal best time that he ran a few weeks earlier. Alex Pollack stepped down in distance and ran the mile finishing with a strong kick running 4:44.56. Newest team member, Matt Inch raced the 5k and mile double, which was very difficult as they were only 40 minutes apart. Inch finished his first indoor 5k in 17:24 and then ran 5:10 in the mile. The 3k was another loaded field as Windle, Greg Lutzke, Dom Reed and Pollack all got out well in the race. Windle had a strong kick was the first RCRC member to cross the line in 9:13. Lutzke was racing in his first track competition this year and finished right behind Windle in 9:14. Reed crossed the line next in 9:32 and Pollack ran 9:52 after running the mile earlier in the day. Jalen Weaver also made his first appearance on the track in 2016, racing a tight field in the 800m, dipping under 2:00. The 4 x 400 relay team of Weaver, Benkovsky, Windle and Pollack came back right after the 3k for some speed work to finish fourth, running a time of 3:42. Congratulations to all seven RCRC team members! We are looking forward to making the transition from the indoor season to the outdoor season next month.
