Deciding to try a hand at competitive running, even a coach needs a coach. Mitch currently coaches track and field at Williamston High School. He has been the girls coach for 23 years and the boys coach for two years. He also coached middle school cross country for seven years and basketball for ten seasons. Mitch coached his wife to the 1988 Olympic Track and Field Trials in the 10,000 meters in 1988. Now that his three running/track kids are out of the house, there is some more time to hit the roads. A graduate of Albion High School, he ran a year of cross country for the Wildcats during his sophomore year.
