At Corunna High School, Steve competed in cross country all four years and earned All Conference honors his junior and senior years.  Steve was named team captain for cross country his senior year.  In the spring, Steve competed in tennis his first two years of high school and then switched to track and field for his final two seasons.  At Alma College, Steve competed on the cross country and track teams with personal best times of 17:31 in the 5k and 29:24 on the 8k cross country course.  Steve graduated from Alma in 2012 with a double major in Business Administration and Theatre Performance.  Steve is currently working on the east coast and one of his immediate goals is to run a half marathon.
